Summer Reading

Hey everyone, it's Steph. Ugh, I hate summer reading. Summer should be relaxing and fun. Plus, people actually go places during the summer. So, I'm still here, working on my essay and trying to finish Great Expectations before school starts, which is in around a week. Ugh. Plus, I think I kinda forgot all the Algebra I ever learned, which is not good.

Video Contest

Hey Creww
I was reallyy bored one day, and found this cool video contest. The requirements are, to make a 30 second video that shows middle schoolers how bad alchohol is, or persuades them to go against drinking alchohol.
Some of the ideas are really cool, so I thought we should try it.

Here's the link: http://www.courageouspersuaders.com/

Check it out.

What is a name?

What is a name? Names actually play pretty important roles in plots and help set the mood for stories. They can be common names, too indicate that the hero is a regular person (like Harry Potter or Alex Rider). Or they can be heroic sounding names that sound fantasy like (such as Gandalf or Eragon). And then villans always have evil sounding names, full of evil intent (like Voldemort). Seriously, try saying Harry Potter evily. Doesn't work out too well does it? And imagine if all the Lord of the Rings characters had names like Bob and Joe.

"The Evil Dark Lord Bob has stolen the ring! Now I the mighty wizard Jim must set out to stop him!" Ridiculous.

Which is a reason I'm a bit mad at Hot Shot. The main character's love interest is named GuGu Chicken. Everyone else has cool heroic Chinese sounding names, like Dong Fang Xiang, but seriously, GuGu Chicken? Sure it was a pretty good joke for a while, but now it sort of dampers the mood. Especially in dramatic scenes where Da Ying talks about his love for GuGu Chicken. It makes is seem likes he's addicted to some type of Chinese poultry dish.

But, in real life, there are some pretty cool/weird/strange/bizzare/why-didn't-I-think-of-that names out there, as the following list shows.

1) Cutout Dissection.com
That's right, someone named themself after a website. And yes, it is completly legal. She's technically Ms.Dissection.com. Pretty good advertising actually. Maybe I should change my name to Theazncrewdot Blogspotdotcom.

2) Zealand-New
A girl born in, you guessed it, New Zealand! Creative parents.

3) @
Wow that must be pretty confusing. In school teachers will be like "Spell your name." and @ will be like "@". How do you even say that? At?

4) Autumn Sullivan Corbett Fitzsimmons Jeffries Hart Burns Johnson Willard Dempsey Tunney Schmeling Sharkey Carnera Baer Braddock Louis Charles Walcott Marciano Patterson Johansson Liston Clay Frazier Foreman Brown
Probably the longest name in the world. 25 Middle names... I wonder if she has to write them all out when asked for her full name. Must've taken a long time to memorize too.

5) Captain Fantastic Faster Than Superman Spiderman Batman Wolverine Hulk and The Flash Combined
Now THAT is a cool name. Imagine being asked what your name is by a policeman or teacher. And imagine their reactions when they find out that's your real name. But you know what's a cooler name? I'm Faster Than Captain Fantastic Faster Than Superman Spiderman Batman Wolverine Hulk and The Flash Combined.

Writer's Block (aka I Was Procrastinating But I Won't Admit It)

Hullo everybody! I have just returned from 3 days of camping with some friends... it was quite fun except for the bugs. And the rain. And the boy scout invasion. And the bathroom with no lights. And the muddy hike. But otherwise... a good time. Once again I have failed to post for quite some time, but that has maingly been because I've been ridiculously busy even though its summer. However I've managed to get some free time and will try to post more frequently (I think this is the third time I'm saying it... but third time's the charm =]). Anyways in recent news Sophy (aka Sophia) has created a website:
www.theazncrew.webs.com
I haven't really had an inspiration to write something in a while, but I'm trying to work on that... hopefully I'll get into the habit of posting on the site more often. Hope everyone's enjoying their summer, I'll post more soon (hopefully...).

Back From China!

Heyy, Anna here.

Just got back from China two days ago. I've missed so much. I leave and everything falls apart. ;D JKK.

I'm trying to do summer assignments/texting Justin/ looking up the MLA format for the summer reading homework. Does anyone in the AZN Crew know what it's supposed to be for notes? And are we supposed to site the book, or our notes on the book? So confused.

Then there's the physics assignment. So yeah, gtg.
see ya!

New Hampshire

Greetings from New Hampshire! I'm leaving to go back home tommorow... it's been a busy first week of summer! Mostly I've gone hiking and almost found a moose... I also nearly died multiple times by walking off the trail (hey, it was hard to see) and trying to climb a waterfall/river/stream/brook thingy. So then my mom said I was going to give her a heart attack so I had to stay on the trail... Also my sister went crazy and melted crayons and attacked me with them and also whacked me with her hat repeatedly. Hmm... what else...

I watched Princess Protection Program with my sister and it was OK I guess... I like the classic Disney movies better =P Well the time's flown by pretty quickly and now I've got a 7 hour drive home to look foward to tommorow... great =( Then I'll finally be back in NJ, just in time to start my summer school which lasts for a month! Hurrah! xP Well that's about it... I'll try to post more frequently...

Freshmen Orientation

Hey guys, it's Steph. =] Got back from the Freshmen Orientation, which was complete torture.

It was so painfully boring and everyone kept repeating the same information over and over again. I think they should have made us walk around the school to like find stuff or something so we would know our way around the school. Instead, we had to sit there for hours listening to teachers talk about boring stuff. Not enjoyable. Davis and Anna, you guys didn't really miss anything, except for BED, Air Conditioning and B for Bridge.

The only remotely fun class was the Ice Breaker when we were thinking of all the things you could use a Styrofoam Cup for. It was crazyyyyyyyy. Our team should have won, because we had 15 ideas, and the winning team only had 14. =p hahaha, actually, I seriously could care less.

I told my mom to pick me up at 2:30, but it actually ended at 2. So, I called her and left a messgae telling her not to pick me up and that I would just carpool with Alyssa. However, my mom got to the high school like a minute after I already rode away in Alyssa'a mom's car. That was terrible planning. On Alyssa's mom's car, Alyssa said that Honors English people would all get C's on their summer reading in order to "weed out" everyone and to see who would stay and who wouldn't. Wow, that's so kind to just break us like that, after all our hard work reading the utterly boring Silas Marner.

Well, enough of my boring droning on and on. Hgu, I have an orthodontist appointment today at 5. =[, boo.

<3, Steph.

P.S. Everyone asked about Freshmen Beat Down Day, which is the first pep rally, but it's not true. However, the itching powder actually happens, so be careful guys!

DORNEYY

Hey peoplee.

I'm going to make this extremely short, because I need to practice violin. I've gotten better, but chances are, I'll be too tired to play tommorow, after Dorney Park.
SO excited. xD

All the eighth graders are going on a trip to Dorney Park tommorow, and after that, school is pretty much over. I've finally gotten over my fear of roller coasters, so tommorow, I'll be about to go on them. BUT, I'm not riding anything extreme, because I'm a chicken like that and proud.
Extremely afraid of skin cancer, so I have to bring sunscreen and a hat. Also, my yearbook, a pen, my cellphone and some money.

Okay, gotta go play violin! See ya!

Oh, and Arthi, you haven't replied to my emails!!! I heard you had a giant one fowarded, but I never got it, so maybe you can make sure you send me something. Or talk to me here. Did you get my emails? There wasn't anything extremely important, mostly updates and ranting. The usual... ;) SO REPLY TO THIS, IF YOU DIDN'T AT LEAST GET MY EMAILS. PLEASE.

Stressed.

Hey everyone, it's Steph...and I'm the only one in Beta. Since everyone else is in Alpha, they are all at the trip to Gettysburg. I'm such a loner. =[.

Okay, anyways, I have no one to rant to and I'm super stressed. First of all, tomorrow, I have this Public Speaking presentation. I'm not prepared at all and I should be practicing it but for some strange reason I'm typing this post. Second, I got a D on my final. That's way worse than azn fail. That's practically azn disownment. Finally, I also have a language final on all the 87 word study words. I didn't study for that either. If I fail middle school seven days before it ends, I won't be a happy camper.

Well, that's it for now. I think I'll go practice my speech now and hope I don't get kicked out of Honors Algebra II.

<3, Steph.

Hey everyone, it's Steph.

Well, yesterday (Friday), I took the final. But, I was sick and I had a fever, so I did really really really really bad. Good-bye Honors Algebra II. =*[

Even worse news, is that I'm sick. Being sick is so annoying. I hate being sick.

On the brighter side, we won't have geometry homework ever again. =] Plus, the entire azn crew should all go see a movie.

Nostalgia...

Well in school we're dong this Best Works thing where you chose the best stuff you've written and then put it in a folder... So I was desprately racking through my computer's document folder looking for something that was even partially good. I didn't find much, but that dissapointing fact was offset by the waves of nostalgia I felt. Ahh... even looking through the titles of stories I wrote bring back vivid memories of the good old times... Also there was one document labelled "One Free Foot Rub" which is sort of freaky but thats besides the pont.

And now I've been thinking about the olden days... like in elementary school where there wasn't any drama and you thought a worksheet of homework was a lot. I miss those days....

Now that my brief nostalgic moment is over, I'd like to take this moment to write a brief sonnet to the old days:

Remember the days full of halcyon blue,
Remember the days of discovery anew,
Remember the days of high hopes and grand dreams,
When your joy and your life flowed endless as streams?
As the days fly by, I bring back to mind,
The thousands of moments that I've left behind.
The trials and sorrows that I've faced and fought,
The joys and the gladness that my life has brought.
I think to the old days, the things I've been through,
And feel like I see them from my car's beackseat view.
My life's moving onwards, the memories fade away,
No more time for looking back; here comes a new day.
So I take this chance, these moments to treasure,
Because I know that they won't be here forever.
So take time to remember days of halcyon blue,
For these are the memories you can always turn to.

OK... that was horrible =(
But thats OK cause no one's going to read it anyways. And it will lead to more nostalgia when in 10 years I look back and it and say "I WROTE THAT!?!?!?"

Updates and Other Stuff

Hallo everybody. Long time no write as usual. This week I've been unusually busy, so I haven't had much time. But I've got some good news! We have a new honorary member of the Azn Crew, Sophia Cheng, who lives in Philadelphia. Yes, she's slightly far away, but still mad coolio. =]

Hmm.... what else. Oh, right! I've officially restarted Mythos, which is a story about Greek gods coming to life, a lot of fighting, dead people, and a bunch of other stuff. Its 50 pages long, and I"m on Chapter 10. I was originally writing the story with Richard and alternating chapters, but he didn't write anything for the past 4 months so I'm assuming he's not part of the story anymore. Anyways, I have a few characters based off of Azn Crew members, including the following:

Davis - The main character's Grandpa... crazy but mad coolio xP
Richard - Half of the president
Justin - The other half of the president and the main bad guy
Renish - A nerd; main character's classmate
Aditi - Hyperactive; main chracter's classmate
Arthi - Also hyperactive; main character's classmate
Stephanie - Bubble tea vendor! =]
Anna - A cowardly half gangsta "posinous" dragon (don't ask)

"Meeting" Over =]

We just came back from a "meeting" at Anna's house. xD
Me, Justin, Anna, and Steph were there, as well as the mini-Azn crew, which consists of out little siblings.  Jack (Justin's little brother), Rebecca (Steph's little sister), and Matthew (Anna's little brother).  Also, Sophia, a 7th grader from Pennsylvania, was there.

Anyways, heres a quick list of stuff that happened:

I get there at the same time Anna, Steph, Sophia, and Rebecca get there, only to find that Justin had somehow already snuch into Anna's house.

Try to get the Mini-Azn Crew to hang out.  Anna runs over Steph with a toy car.

We play Ping-Pong with Anna's really awesome Ping-Pong ball shooting machine... I've got to get one!!!

Girls paint their nails... Boys are bored.  Girls try to paint boys nails... Boys are scared.

Me, Justin, and Steph invade Anna's room... we find out her school password and also steal her gum.

Attempt to study for math test fails.

We play foosball and pool, then me and Justin get into a massive ping pong ball fight in which I take pool sticks and beat him up but then he attacks me with tennis equipment.

We eat pizza made by Anna's mom (thanks!).

We go outside and play football.  My team dominates. xP

We play basketball... Anna attempts Regretless Flying Dragon Style and fails miserably.

Then we play badminton, but run out of raquets so use tennis stuff instead.

Go home. =(

Overall, quite a fun Memorial Day. =]

YAY FOR ME!

Ok, you know how I just said I was gonna use good grammar? Well, I'm too lazy to do so now b/c it takes forever. yeah, so back to bad grammar. anyways, i just realized that i have the most tags to my name :) i feel so special mhm so keep tagging me :)))) yep and i also have the most comments on my really really long rant that u guys should read if you haven't :) yay so thought i would say that mhm thank u for whoever tagged me in their entries or commented on my posts or actually bothered to read my entries and follow this blog :) yep THANK YOU :) k bye

Grammar

Hello. Everybody has been constantly nagging to me about my previous posts because they are "too long", "don't use proper grammar", "need punctuation!", and many others. So, from now on, I have decided to use amazing grammar in all of my posts so that you all will faint upon reading them. This post isn't going to be very long because I hate using proper grammar, it's boring and makes me feel like I'm in school. I almost made a typo, but decided to edit it because I know someone would come up to me and tell me that my grammar was wrong, and then probably give me a lecture. In other news, my writing sucks, so don't blame me if you are getting bored reading this. Okay, I need to finish typing, editing, and partly writing some scripts for my language class which takes for ever. Bye, ciao, peace in, farewell, adieu, arrividerci, zai jian.

Azn Crew Meeting at My House, Tommorow

Hello, peoples.

Tommorow, there's gonna be an Azn Crew meeting at my house. Except I have to clean the house and not piss off my mom if I'm allowed to hold it. Haven't started cleaning yettt, but I'll get around to it.

Anyways, reminder to self:
Show Azn Crew my second grade halloween pictures.
I was Mulan in second grade, with this adorable costume. This year, Stephanie and I are gonna be NUNNs! xD Jessica might join and be a priest. Stephanie, you do know that Mulan has a happy ending, right?

AHHH! I MISS ARTHI!!!
Arthi, if you read this, don't forget to email me your new address and number. I'm visiting China the day school's out, and if you don't reply by then, I'm sneaking on the next plane to India. So, please read this, cause I'll be so lost in India.
I'd even be lost in China...

I'm supposed to be doing a bio of someone, but since everyone refuses to let me do one of them, I'm going to do one of my fictional character, Elizabeth Taylor Zhang. I'm working on a book, inspired by a biography of Jane Austen, called England's Jane: The Story of Jane Austen. If you haven't read it, you should. It's one of the only non-fiction books I haven't been utturly bored reading. There was also this one about Jacqueline Kennedy, but it's not important.

I'll be doing the bio in my next post, as soon as I fully develop my character. She's based off of some people and is a mixture of some of my friends, but I'm not that creative, so cut me some slack. Oh, and I made her hate purple because no heroine of mine can like purple. The villains will be obsessed in it, though.

My Rant on Happy Endings and Fairytales

Hey guys, it's Steph. Well, as most of you guys know, I hate happy endings and fairytales.

Have you ever realized that fairytales are so over-rated? Seriously, life is NOT that perfect. Plus, we don't get everything we want in the world, and there's no fairy godmother or handsome prince to save us. And, Ariel is so spoiled. She has all these human treasures and she still wants more. Someone should slap that girl. The only fairytale I like is Mulan, because that's the best one ever. Not only is she Chinese, but she also has real courage and strength. Girls can do everything a guy can. =p.

The reason why I hate happy endings is because lately, all movies have happy endings. They're so annoying. You can predict what happens in the end. Everything works out, they live happily ever after, yada yada. The movie that I really like is The Dark Knight. I love the ending so much. One of the books I like is called The Night Road. The ending is sad but happy. You guys should read it. =]

Okay, don't want to drone on and on, and I need to prepare for the giant barbeque today!

<3, Steph.

Jack's Birthday!

Somewhat late, but yesterday was Jack (Justin's little brother and Anna's fiance) birthday!  So naturally, Justin invited me to hang out with the other 9 year olds at Lazer Park, in which we got to shoot people with lazers! xD  Of course, my team (green) completly dominated and crushed Justin's team (red) into the dust.  And guess what?  I got 3rd and 2nd place ranking, while Justin got 3rd, 6th, and 8th after bragging that he "ownd everyone" and would get first place.

We also played arcade games in which I continued to beat Justin at, although he did beat me at air hockey.  And also, I've gained insight to the craziness inside young people's minds... Two of them were determined to join the Marines and kill all the innocents, and talked about their preferred method of chopping kids heads off.  Slightly... disturbing.    Also, kids these days take lazer tag very seriously, talking about how they would split the group into 5 squads, including a scout, diversions, and offense... its just a game guys, we're not trying to conquer the world (yet).

Also, I've been searching a few terms from the blog on Google, and was suprised that this blog was actually on the first page fora  few of them!  Of course, "the Azn crew blog" isn't exactly used widely, but its a start.  I've also decided to create another blog on the study of emoticonology (n. The study of emoticons, their variations, and how they impact the world):

emoticonology.blogspot.com

And thats all for today folks. =]

Famous Azn Crew Quotes Part One

Here is a list of the "unusual" things that the Azn Crew can say at times... just another testimony to our weirdness:

"One day, I will find the man who stole my car, and I will say: Hello, my name is Davis Liu.  You stole my car.  Prepare, to die." - Davis when talking about New York

"You run out of breath, and you are slowly. Dying. TO DEATH." - Renish in a class presentation about the important of mechanics

Davis: One day you'll go to jail, and I will come visit you, and I will LAUGH, and you will say...
Anna: (interrupts) "Did you bring the heroin?"

Dave: "Wait the highest note u can play on the violin is an E rite?"
Renish: "No, u can play and E, F, G, H..."
Dave: "There is no H!"

"Haha! It peed on you!" Aditi, refering to a tree dripping water on my head

Time Panda FAQ

Many of you recently have been wondering who the mysterious "Time Panda" was, so we here at The Azn Crew have put together a Frequently Asked Questions to help satisfy your curiousity about this strange figure.

Who is the Time Panda?
Who is he you ask? The Time Panda is a mysterious entity that can GRANT PEOPLES WISHES with its Magic Bamboo Wand of wish granting.

Wishes?  How can you get wishes?
At 1:11, 2:22, 3:33, etc. you can make a wish on the Time Panda!  No guarentees it will come true, but it might, so might as well try it out. =]

What does the Time Panda look like?
Umm... it looks like a panda.  Only with wings.

Where does the Time Panda live?
In the Time Bamboo Forest, where it eats Time Bamboo.

Is the Time Panda edible?
Um... no...

Can I buy a Time Panda?
Unfortunately, not yet.  However, you can wish for one from the Time Panda himself. =]

Why is it a Time PANDA?
Ok, heres the story.  Anna was talking about making a wish at 11:11, and that she would be wishing on a Time Wizard.  I argued that it would be a Time FAIRY, but Anna said that Wizards are cooler.  However, this led to the logical statement that Panda's are even cooler, so it turned out to be a Time Panda. =]

Hallo... 5/19/09

Hallo everybody, this is Davis-who-hasn't-posted-and-is-really-sorry-about-that.  Yesterday was busy, busy busy busy.  Like legittt busssiness... i stayed up til 11 trying to get everything done.
So I get home at 4, have Greek lessons until 5:30, do hw until 7, eat dinner until 7:30, continue with homework until 9, read the Bible while trying to get some guitar practice in until 9:30, then do my homework until 10:30, and finally study Greek desperately until 11.  Oh, thats right, I learn Greek for those people who don't know.

And now, its nearly 7PM.  I just finished editing a research paper for Ritesh, a really smart, overly verbose friend of mine.  10 pages long... he mad a 5 paragraph paper 10 pages long!!!!!  Well, after about an hour of editing I'm done with that.  Today has been a really writing-ish day, because I edited Renish, Aditi, Justin, and Ritesh's papers.  Everyone always comes flocking to me to edit stuff, its really quite annoying.  But I deal with it. xP

Anyways... I've got to practice guitar and then write an essay for Greek...  shouldn't take too long... maybe I'll actually get to sleep before 11 this time! =]

Feeling Pretty Bad Today

It's been a really long day, and I haven't started my Geometry homework yet [haha, Aditi, our theory!] so I don't know why I'm writing this. I can't even rant, cause it's personal.

Today's been a really bad day, and tonight I still have a GPYO concert, which I can't be excited about, because after that, I STILL have GPYO. It's an orchestra outside of school.
I hate going for three hours every monday.

Not to mention, I'm going to be trying out for the dance team, and Stephanie's determined to make us fail. I can't even go on to Student Ballet 5 if I don't practically study for the rest of my life, because my mom thinks that I'm still too busy, even though I've already quit soccer.

I'm feeling extremely pissed right now, so if anyone happens to see me, don't expect me to say hi or anything. I'm gonna drown myself in homework, then go to the stupid concert and come back at 10. I can't even finish the book I'm reading, unless I want an hour's lecture about how I need to study more.

I'm too lazy to write anything else, considering my stupid math homework. This has made me feel even more depressed. Ugh, bye.
Grr, I need to stop being so self-obsorbed. Ok, tommorow, or sometime this weekend, I'm going to do a biography on one of the members of the azn crew. Anyone volunteer?

STORY! With no name... yet =]

Well, here's by story. ITs thriller/firperson/horror-ish about a disease that almost destroys mankind. This is the first part:

“My God, what is that thing?” That’s how it all started. I remember it as if it was yesterday. I’ve tried a hundred times to forget that day, that dreadful, horrid day. But it comes back… it always does. They say that the epidemic’s over, they say that the virus is dead. It isn’t. It’ll be back. I can sense it… its still there, a remnant of those dreadful times. It hasn’t shown itself yet, but it’s waiting, waiting for a moment to strike, a moment to spread out carnage in every direction. And I can only pray to God that time we’ll be ready. ‘Cause if we aren’t, then this time might be our last.
They say that “all men are created equal.” You never see that much in real life. Humans discriminate; always have, always will. We can try to hide it, but our prejudice will still be there in the back of our minds, silently influencing out thoughts. But that disease didn’t discriminate. Maybe that’s one of the worst things about it. It didn’t care how old you were, how healthy you were, what you looked like. Regardless of your genetic makeup, regardless of how healthy you were and how many times you washed your hands, it would find a way. It would a find a way to infect you. And once you were infected, it was only a matter of time before you died. Either by the disease or the government. You never knew which would get to you first.
I think I was twenty three when it happened. Damn, the years have gone by fast. Fifteen years… fifteen years out of my life. Fifteen years that weren’t a part of my life at all. I remember it. You hid, and you prayed. You didn’t’ leave your house no matter what. You barricaded yourself wherever you could and you’d pray to God that it wouldn’t get to you. But it always had a way; it could find you wherever you hid. And if it didn’t find you, it would find someone you knew. Then you’d hear their screams, their yelling for help. That was the worst part. When you could hear them in their last moments. And you’d sit there torn, cause you knew that if you went to help, it would only be a matter of time before you were in the same state they were in. Those fifteen years… you didn’t know if it was a day or a century. There was no time, no moments you could recall. Just pain, just horror, just anticipation. That’s what drove most of them insane. Anticipating when you were going to die… knowing that the virus might be a few feet from you, silent, invisible. Knowing that a second later you might have been infected. Damn those years went fast. And damn, they went by so slow too.
Reports say that it killed 80% of the population. But those are reports. In truth, I’d say barely 10% of us survived. And survived is a broad term. Most went insane. A few, forever scarred mentally and physically. And a few… you didn’t know. A few looked and sounded alright, but you could tell they weren’t. But I’m ranting aren’t I. You’re not here to listen to an old man rant about the fear, the terror I faced. You’re hear to learn the story. This is how it happened. This is how we survived. This is the story of how a single genetic mistake nearly wiped out mankind.
Look out the window… its barren landscape now. If you’re lucky you might see a few building in the distance. Mostly scorch marks remain of a past civilization. The government tried fire at first, bombing cities that were infected. Sure, there were still people living in there, but the government didn’t’ give a damn by that time. It had spread too far, there was no more hope of saving everybody. The survivors have managed to salvage a few remains, but let me tell you. Before it started, there were monuments, buildings, oh you can’t imagine. Cities, vast skyscrapers, cars and roads in every direction! And the noise, it was a beautiful noise. Not this goddamned silence, but the noise of life, of a bustling city. That’s gone now. Most of everything is gone now. There were lights too, shining bright lights. Like the sun, only multicolored. God, I miss those days.

I'll write the rest later. Comment... I want advice to make it better. =]

Last Dance :) 5/15/09

Ok, yeah so Steph told me to go write on the blog b/c it was "boring". so yeah. im not gonna rant again b/c u guys will beat me up and i will b injured again. so yeah. today was cool. first we had alpha fun day. so we sat in the auditorium and "watched" back to the future for an hour and a half occasionally laughing so yeah. and then i went to encore and worked on some weird w/s that a sub gave us in video media. yep yep yep. so then i went and ate lunch. but then people dragged me to go sing barbara ann which i suck at b/c i suck at dancing. i'll get back to that later. so yeah on thursday i was constantly harrased by mrs. lepore b/c my dancing sucks so bad and yeah that was not fun. luckily today i did somewhat better :) ok moving on. then we had activities so we went to ss and played pictionary and against all odds my group (the guys) won and mrs. k was yelling at the girls b/c they didn't win hahahaha. ok yeah then we went to mr. a/ mr. l's room and played miniature golf :) hahah that was so much fun i epic failed b/c i thought i putter was a driver but thats ok i suck at golf anyways. yep so then we played some weird quiz game after putting and we tied but we didn't win anything :( and then we went to mrs. z's room and played cards then threw them on the ground and forced hitesh to go pick them up :) hehehehe we hate sevies so much. yeah word of advice: if ur a seventh grader, suck up to the eighth graders b/c many of them will hate u on impulse. yep ok so then after school i went home and then ate dinner and went to the dance. ok finally the fun part of my day: the dance! this deserves a new paragraph b/c this paragraph is too big anyways.
ok dance so yeah i went to the dance and then stood there by the door waiting for people to show up k and then the azn crew FINALLY showed up and then i got bored so i wandered around looking for more friends and then davis tagged along b/c he doesn't like being alone w/ girls :O hahaha jking ok so yeah my other friends were equally as boring so i went back to the azn crew. now ur prob saying "this sounds super boring" or "can't you finish this stupid blog post already?" and i'm replying "well here's the good part" and "im glad ur actually reading this whole thing. i commend you for that." mhm k so yeah then i chased around various people asking if i could work at the snack shack so then i finally started working there and then anna just walked through the door passing through all the teachers and started working there also and i was like wowwwww wat a fail. mhm and then stephanie tagged along and then davis finally came but he failed b/c there were already too many people and b/c he was the last one he was kicked out even though none of them should've been there. so yeah finally they all left and i was all alone w/ no one so i just kept serving until the end b/c then all the left overs are served so i got a free powerade :) yep. ok so then i went back out and we actually started dancing. :O what a shocker :O. yep so yeah i suck at dancing as i mentioned before and made a total fool of myself. but thats ok so we kept dancing so yeah then it ended :( but omg so i was spazzing b/c i didn't think i could get a ride but then lin and davis kept assuring me that they could give me a ride so yeah i got a ride finally and made it back home after lin and davis translated for me :) hahahaha yeaah mhm so here i am typing usless random stuff to u for enjoyment when i really should b sleeping b/c i have 2 concerts tom. ok im gonna go now. peace in :) (ha steph i remembered ;) )

How the Last Middle School Dance Went

Hey guys, it's Steph, again. =]

The dance was SO SO SO much fun! I'm so glad I went. It was pretty much how all dances go, with INAPPROPRIATE DANCING and BEHAVIORS *cough*. If any of you guys ever do that, I'll beat you up. =p

Me and Anna snuck into the Snack Shack to help out, even though we weren't Student Council Members. We were so close to getting caught.

Anyways, I probably looked like an idiot dancing because I was basically just jumping up and down, but who cares. It was a lot of fun. =]

Add more details guys.

<3, Steph.

Last Middle School Dance

Hey guys, it's Steph. I'm going to try to post more too, because I don't know, I'm in the blogging mood. =]

Anyways, today is the last middle school dance, and the first dance I'm going to. Every Friday, I had piano lessons, but this time, I'm skipping it to go to the last dance!!! And, I'm quitting piano so it doesn't even matter. Almost the entire azn crew will be there, and I'll post more details about it afterwards. I am so phyched. Can't wait.

<3, Steph.

ANOTHER Random Post

Heh heh.  Long time no see...
(awkward silence)
Well, I think about a week ago I said that I would start updating more often... umm... it looks like i failed.  Epically.
(another awkward silence)
Uh, so yeah.  I'll actually start updating now.  Sorry!  I've been busy (procrastinating as usual) and really wasn't in a writing mood.  However, with some encouragement I will actually begin to post stuff, hopefully intersting/readable.  Once again, sorry, and I will begin posting ASAP!
And this is a special shout out to our current only follower, Stephanie's sister, Monika aka the Book Worm.  She was a major reason I decided to start updating more often, and in appreciation, please visit her blog:
http://the-book-worm-blog.blogspot.com
which talks about books and reviews them.  And if there are any people actually reading this, please leave a comment or become a follower so that we feel more appreciated.  =] =] =]

Random Post

Hey guys, it's Steph.

Anyways, its a bit late, but the Swan Lake show was a sucess. No one fell off the stage or anything like that. We did pretty good, except I now know that I officially stink at ballet. Speaking of ballet, like Anna said, this week was the last week of classes, so we're going to take Open Enrollment classes together. I need to get a black leotard. Plus, I want a purple one, cause that is just so cool.

I also want to say good-bye to one of our azn crew members, Arthi Ramu, who is leaving for India. We'll miss you so so much!!! *tear tear*

I feel like I'm just repeating everything that Anna said, but still. The dance is coming up, and I can actually come this time!!! I'm missing my last piano lesson to go to the last dance of middle school. Time is flying by so fast, but so slow at the same time. Or maybe I'm just going crazy.

Hershey is coming up and me and Anna are rooming together. (I never say Anna and I, cause that sounds so weird.) Sorry Aditi and Toria, cause we'll probably keep you guys up all night because of our nonstop talking. Plus, I'm doing Anna's nails, cause they're just a mess. =p

Finally, all of you guys should be so proud of me, because *drumroll* I'm trying out for the lacrosse team next year. I know I've ranted about how much I hate it, but the fact is, it's not actually that bad. I hope I make it. I'm also trying out for the Dance Team with Anna. I hope I make that too. Or else that will just kill my self esteem.

<3, Steph.

Oh wait, almost forgot to say, I am so jealous of Anna. Can't believe she got a new Voyager. That's the phone that I've been wanting for forever!!! I'm stuck with my stinky pre-paid phone. Actually, I love my phone, except for that fact that I can't even use it cause it costs 25 cents for one minute.

Random

I can't think of anything to say, but I wanted to entertain our ONE follower, someone named Monika Zheng. Is she related to you, Stephanie?

So...I got a new calculator. One of those hundred dollar graphing calculators, cause Renish lost mine[butthead] and I needed one for next year anyways. It's really cool, but way too big. I'm linking it to the computer right now, to find out why I need the USB connecter.

Friday's the last school dance of middle school! I promised myself and some other people that I'd go, so I'm going to. The entire Azn Crew should go.

This week is the last week of ballet! Then, starting in June, I'm going to take Open Enrollment, where people can go whenever they want, but it's scary because even teachers can come to warm up. I REALLY hope I don't see Mrs. Whitney, even though she's the awesomest ballet instructor ever. It would mess me up.

Also, my GPYO [Greater Princeton Youth Orchestra] concert is next week, and then the one after that is in the Richardson theater.

Ahh! Everything's ending. Only thing I'm excited for is school being over. Then, I'm going to China for a month. That'll be interesting.

Guess what? I'm getting the Voyager on Wednesday, and it's Monday. As soon as I get it, I'm going to spam Justin, because it's free Verizon to Verizon texting, and he's like, the only one who has Verizon in the Azn Crew. Also, I'll text Angelie, Jessica, some other people, yeah...

Last thing, HERSHEY!
I'm kind of scared, because everyone's going to force me to go on scary roller coasters, and I'm scared of heights. Worst thing, I'll hang out on the pirate ride the whole time. Maryam, remember Six Flags? LOL, I was such a spazzing chicken.
Good news is, I have now outgrown that phase. Six Flags was seven months ago.

It's late, and I need to go to bed. Everyone on the Azn Crew, keep posting blogs, even though no one cares about our lives. D;

If any of you readers haven't clicked the follow button, please do it, or let us know that you're reading it, because we are feeling really unimportant right now, and for the good of the environment and a car, we neeedd readers.

Wedding Canceled

Back to update. Had to cancel the wedding, because it messed up the pact. Stephanie's over. Mar, Steph and I were supposed to go to the movies, but it didn't work out, cause everyone has too busy of a schedule. It's postponed to next week. Maybe the Azn Crew will meet up with us at the movie.

Ugh, my mom keeps stuttering on the phone. I wish she'd get to her point. This is making me annoyed.

Getting Married =D

Guess what? I'm getting married to Justin's bro, Jack. Haven't worked out the details, but he doesn't know that we're getting married yet. He's this adorable 8-year-old, who's too shy to say his name. Eventually, I found it out, though. Though there IS an age difference [I'm 13 and he's 8.] love can conquer anything. ;D

I'll be posting the day soon. I think on May 2, I'll have my bridal shower with Stephanie and Maryam. It happens to be my birthday.

And, I got new erasers, so after the NJASK and state testing, I can actually erase things that I stupidly spell wrong. Like wroing.

I'll update everyone later, considering I'm supposed to be on Study Island, studying, cause I convinced my mom to let me skip ballet. Don't have time now, but I'll fill out the details of this marriage later.

TESTING IS OVER!!!  Erm... long time no see/read.  I've been quite busy (slacking off that is) and didn't have the time to write an article, and I'm a really good procrastinator so I put off writing this for a pretty long time.  However, I've decided in an attempt to stop procrastination, I will write an article EVERY day unless I have a really really really really good reason not to.  If I don't, I give permission for... umm... something bad to happen to me.  Well, testing is finally over and I'm happy to say that I wasn't all that bad. =]
Justin, Renish, and Richard also came over to my house yesterday to "get work done", but that didn't work out quite well.  We did manage to get some of our project done though, and that's better than nothing.  Also, happy birthday eve Anna!  Her bridal shower is tommorow as well, even though their wedding seems to have been cancelled.  Well, thats about all that happened this week, besides Aditi and Anna nearly destroying a sculpture in Social Studies that took Renish and I weeks to build.  Thanks a lot guys. =P

Horoscopes!

Well, recently I've been looking through a series of horoscopes/proedictions and commenting on how they were all rubbish.  So, I've decided to create my own set of horribly inaccurate horoscope predictions!  Here are the horoscopes for April 27th, 2009:

Aries - You will get into a fight with your parents.  The fight will end in tears, but don't worry.  You'll make up and the family will go out to your favorite restaurant to make up for it.
Taurus - You will find $20 on the ground.  Spend it wisely; all the stock you bought will crash and you will lose 90% of your money.  Though luck.
Gemini - You will get everything you ever dreamed of, become famous, and get immensely rich.
Cancer - You will get cancer and die.  Sorry.
Leo - Richard will get hungry from not eating 8 lunches.  He will eat your best friend.
Virgo - You will meet one of the members of the azn crew, but then will trip and break your arm.
Libra - Today, you will have pretty good luck. However, be wary of cows.  You will know what that means when the time comes.
Scorpio - You will get accidently shipped to Africe. In Africa, you will tame a scorpion and it will become your best friend.  Also, you will find out that Malfoy is your real father.  Scary...
Sagittarius - Any joke you make today will be found very funny.  And don't worry, if someone doesn't laugh, they will die within the next 32 hours.
Capricornus - You will win the lottery and get a lot of free stuff.  Then you will get run over a truck.  Too bad.
Aquarius - You will drink a lot of water today.  You will also learn how to play underwater soccer and win a championship swimming race.
Pisces - You will go scuba diving, but drown in the process after you are mobbed by thousands of fish and turtles.

Oh, and for those who ask, I'm a Gemini.

TESTING: New Sections

Well, we've got science, math, and reading/writing.   So why not add in a few more sections?  Here are some of my ideas, as well as a few sample questions:

1) Social - Cause its important to know how to talk and make friends...
If you saw a stranger, what would you do?
How many friends do you have on Facebook?
What is the proper way to say "Hi" to an 18year old jock you've known for 8 days that doesn't have a girlfriend, likes the color orange, hates computers, has a B average, and is Jewish?

2) Technology - Cause as IPODS/computers/internet/etc. become more and more used, its very important to know how yo use them.
How do you turn on a computer?
How do you use the Internet?
How will Google eventually take over the world?

3) Entertainment - Cause its important to know how to have fun... all work and no play makes middle schools very angry. >:(
What blog will make you very happy because it is so awesome?
What is your favorite pastime?
Why is school testing so boring/unfun?

4) The Azn Crew - Cause we're going to take over the world someday, and then you'll wish that you read all of our posts.  Here's some practice for the tests you'll be seeing in a few years:
What is the 5th word of the 3rd sentence of the 4th post?
Who is the awesomest writer in the blog?
Why is Davis the awesomest writer in the blog?

Journal: April 27th, 2009

HOROSCOPE FOR THE WEEK:
Take time to catch up on gossip and make plans to do a little adventure travel. You will be able to get along well with colleagues. You may have ignored or neglected your mate lately. Take time to do some writing, whether it`s correspondence, poetry, or keeping a journal.

Your lucky day this week will be Monday.

Hmm... horoscopes. Intersting.  Hopefully, most of this stuff is true, except for the part about my mate... seeing as to how I don't have one.  And it also seems that my lucky day will be Monday... and if today was the luckiest day of my week... *shiver of fear*.  But my horoscope did tell me to write more, so I'll try to get some more posts for the blog.

Anyways, today we did testing practice.  TESTING TOMMOROW!!! AHH!!!  I hate testing. =(
We mostly reviewed, although my school seems to be crazy enough to give us two major projects DURING TESTING... as if we weren't stressed enough.  A busy week, and if we get any homework during testing... I will explode.  Literally.  Not a pretty sight.  '

Making Dumplings!

Yep, today we made dumplings/bubble tea!  Our family tradition is dumplings on Sunday, and my parents have recently been attempting to teach my sister and I the proper techniques of dumpling folding.  Its actually harder then it looks... most of mine came out as little squished balls of dough.  Still, through diligent practice I seem to have improved. =]
Anyway, I also managed to display my chopsticks inifficiency when my parents asked me whether I would use a spoon or chop sticks, and I immediately whipped out a pair of chopsticks and proclaimed "Obviously chopsticks; after all, I am Chinese!" and the chopsticks promptly flew out of my hand and fell on the ground.  Also, my sister displayed more of her usual weirdness/lack of logic after delicately crafting 3 dumplings that she called "pretty".  She asked what to do with them, and my parents told her to put them onto the plate so we could cook them (duh).  Dismayed, she looked down at her dumplings and then back up, saying, "But...but... they're pretty!".  Well, I've got to go eat the dumplings now (I'll be careful not to eat any of my own or my sister's though).  Got to love dumplings. =]

Tree Planting what actually happened

Ok so im writing this post to tell you what actually happened. Ok, so I was diligently planting tress on a hill when Angelie, Aadya, and Mariam come and grab me and tell me that I'm going to go persuade the ice cream man to give us free ice cream... and i was like "no, im not doing that" and they were trying to compliment me so that i would do it and they were like "but Justin, you are the best persuader" and i was like "no, im really not" but still they dragged me to the ice cream truck and i said i still wasn't gonna do it so I tried to run away but they dragged me back and in the process almost got run over by and angry lady in a red car. (GOOD JOB U GUYS) and yea so after almost being killed i ran behind the fence and then had other people yelling at me and punching me repeatedly and then we went back and I had Anna start yelling at me also. by now i was really pissed. k so anna went and asked the Deputy Dogs people if we could have free water. (ps thanks deputy dogs :)) yea but then after we got our free water they started hitting me again for not getting them their ice cream and then anna splashed water all over my shirt. then i got really mad so i shunned them all for a period of about 3 hrs. mhm so yeah thats what really happened. Moral of this story: don't be around teenage girls in 90 degree weather when an ice cream truck is there.

TESTING!!!!

STATE TESTINGISONLY 2 DAYS AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
Ok, now that I'm done spazzing, I'd like to comment on how much I absolutely hate state testing. Like really really really strongly dislike.  State testing will start on Tuesday and last until Friday, so we'll be forced to endure 4 days of unending torture, writing exams, and math questions.  Our school has been going through the typical "get a good breakfast, good night's sleep, try your best!" etc.  advice that the teacher's seem to think we'll actually follow.  Anyways, starting tommorow, I will be writing a test-related post (be it a rant on how much I hate testing, intersting stories, advice, etc.) to get in the mood for testing, and this series of posts will last until Friday.  Wish the Azn crew good luck for their test!  We'll need it.

Journal: April 24th - 26th

Well, I haven't written since Thursdya.  Why? Ahhhh!!!  A very busy weekend, involving countless stories.  I'll give a few highlights:

Friday - The Azn Crew meeting!  Unfortunately, half our members couldn't come, so it ended up with just me, Justin, Richard, Aditi, and Anna.  e played badminton, ping pong, king of the hill, etc.  We were veeeeeeeryyy productive.  Anna originally brought a notebook with herto record the meeting, but seeing as we didn't actually do anything, it was left blank.  Luckily, her parents didn't check. =]  We had pizza, during which Stephanie called us and we attempted to trick her by warping our voices.  Quote of the day by Anna: (in an attempted low voice) "Hey, I'm Richard.  WTF." Then, we had "spicy" buffalo wings, in which no one thought they were spicy but Anna started tearing.  Luckily, she made it out alive without drinking any Sprite!  Good job!  Afterwards, we beat up Justin for getting hyper (I think he had too much Coke) and started kicking him around.  Good times, good times.

Saturday - Tree planting!  Most of the azn crew came, except Arthi, Renish, and Richard (who lives three minutes away from the park we were at, but complained that "it was too hot").  We planted 30 trees (I planted 4!) and also got free iced water from Deputy Dog.  Thanks, if you ever read this!  Afterwards, I went home, opened the door, and heard someone playing my guitar.  Whaaaaaaaat?  I walk upstairs, and find Lin playing my guitar... it turns out that she came over because we and a few other church members were going to Piscatway.  Anna and Richard were SUPPOSED to come, but Richard had to go out for dinner and Anna "was too busy". Excuses, excuses.  At Piscatway, we had a meeting and played ping pong, in which I was repeatedly killed (there were a lot of other azns there...).  We got back at 10PM, and I was dying of tiredness, so I pretty much went straight to sleep.

Sunday - Church, guitar lessons (which I didn't fail TOO badly), homework, project, and now writing a blog.  =]

Tree Planting

Heyy.
Yesterday, I hosted this tree planting event, where I basically forced the Azn Crew to come. ;D
Actually, they came by will, except for the few that didn't go at all. [ehhm, Richard, Arthi and Renish...]

It was a huge success. A lot of other friends came, we had pizza, and planted trees for 2 and a half hours. ;D. At first, everyone was exhausted and Angelie said if we made her come next year, she'd hide in her house with steak knives. I warned her of my awesome yellow belt power, of course, and my chainsaw. Stephanie even threatened to use her bulldozer. ;]But after the wind picked up, we had tons of fun. Stephanie and I went over Maryam's house to hose off afterwards. Maryam and I loveeeed cloud watching.

We're planning on doing the same thing next year, only kicking it up a notch, to 50 trees. But, next year, we'll be in high school and can get more people to come. Also, I won't do everything last minute and invite people hours before the planting.

Just wanted to give a last minute shout out to Deputy Dog, who supplied us with ice water. I had to ask for the "donation" because Justin chickened out on me last minute. But it's ok; I got even, by pouring water all over him.

All that running around the house, answering phone calls, paid off. A lesson to all our readers, save the planet, or I'll beat you up with my yellow belt powers.

The Azn Crew Limerick

There once was an Azn Crew,
And a member, Davis, was blue,
So he wrote a few poems,
Despite the angry groans,
And now chaos will ensue.

And so, Davis wrote a (horrible/imporvised at last second/not-making-sense) limerick for each member of the Azn Crew!  Enjoy!

Davis:
There once was boy named Davis,
who learned to type from Mavis,
And he created a blog,
Which he used as a log,
And most of the articles are his.

Richard:

There once was a Richard Xu,
Who ate like a pig at the zoo,
But he said it didn't matter,
Cause he never gets fatter,
And I guess that must be true.

Renish:
Note: How was I supposed to rhyme Renish????

The boy named Renish was quite smart,
In fact, his smartness was off the chart.
He's obssesed with robotics,
And doesn't take narcotics, (hopefully...)
And cared about things with his heart.

Justin:

There once was a boy named Justin,
And thought I murdered his kin,
He played the flute well,
He thought polos were swell,
And his brother's name was Jack, not Dustin.

Aditi:
There once was a girl named Aditi,
Who never drew or made grafiti,
She was much too nice,
And ate lots of rice,
As well as a few pounds  of ziti.

Arthi:
There once was a girl named Arthi Ramu,
Who was quite a genius, through and through,
But shes going to India,
For a year, Mama Mia!
And that fact makes us all quite blue.

Anna:
There once was a girl named Anna,
Who's name did rhyme with bannana,
She loves ballet,
And dances everyday,
And she no longer believes in Santa.

Stephanie:
There once was a girl named Stephanie,
Who at times can very nosy be,
She loves to watch dramas,
And on chat uses commas,
And wants a car so that she can be free.

NOTE:  Not everything in the poems is true; a lot of it was done to get stuff to rhyme. =]

The Aznst Parents of Them All

Well, today provided plenty more testimonies as to why my parents are so azn.  And so, I've decided to compile a list of reasons my parents are azn... extremely azn...

1) Blame me for every problem that comes up - internet loses connection: "DAVIS!!!" Phone dies "DAVIS!!!" Scratch in paint "DAVIS!!!" Lightbulb stops working "DAVIS!!!"

2) Thinks grades are super important - My grades are supposed to be my life; my parents won't let me miss a single school day because they think it will somehow ruin my life.  Even when it snows 8 inches, mr parents retain the hope that school won't be cancelled.  In fact, my parents are so azn that when a doctor's appointment is on a weekday, they make sure that its super early so I can go to the appointment and make it back to school on time.

3) Are not satisfied with any grade - I got a 297/300 and a 300/300 on my standarized test.  My parents are angry at me for losing those 3 points.  In fact, my parents got extremly angry and dissapointed at me when one of my A+'s turned into an A, even though I brought two other A's into A+'s.

4) Think I should like school - Conversation yesterday: "You mean... you mean you don't like school?" they whispered.  "Uh, no, I actually don't."I reply. "Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!!!!!" spazz spazz spazz.  And then I was kicked out of the room.

5) Try to be right all the time - Never listen to me... once at an airport, we got lost looking for the exit.  Eagerly, I pointed at the sign that said "Exit Left".  They decided to go to the right. And wasted another hour of my time.

6) Frugal/Saves Money/Cheap - Tries to trick storekeepers and uses coupons for everything. Food, clothing, toys; only bought if they're on sale.  Try to find every single saving they can in an attempt to save a few extra cents.

7) Compare to everyone - Lin got a better score on that test.  Renish is more polite than you.  Justin is more musical than you.  It seems that no matter how well I do, my parents find a way to compare me to someone and lower my self esteem.

8) Tell me to beat people up - If someone annoys me and I tell my parents they annoyed me, their answer is simple: Go beat them up.  So much for mutual respect.

How I Spent TYCTWD

Hey everyone, this is Steph. =]

Anyways, I stayed at home for TYCTWD, because I went to work with my grandma, who stays at home. *wink wink*. My day was slightly productice, except for the fact that I spent like three hours doing Geometry homework, but that was only because I was watching TV at the same time. And, I practiced ballet for around an hour, since I bombed that ballet assessment. So much for Student Ballet 5. Also, me and Anna (not using Anna and I, because that sounds weird) decided that we are going to exchange all of our old nail polish for carcinogen-free nail polish via zoya.com. We basically called each other like every three hours, since my parents wouldn't let me come over her house. =[. Oh, almost forgot, Anna saw a snake today. It looked like the one that I saw about a year ago in my backyard. That was about how I spent my entire day.

<3, Steph.

Journal: April 23rd, 2009

Another goodish day, except for it seems that two of our "loyal" azn crew members ditched us and decided to stay home.  Still, half the classes were missing so we didn't do much work, mostly just played around and waste the day away. Also, we played ping pong in which I absolutely crushed everyone (its ok Justin, I'm sure you were just unlucky =P).  Oh, and I ate a bunch of strawberries. Love strawberries. =]

Hmm... not much else to say.  I don't feel very productive today, so I guess I'll just type up random articles and waste my time, maybe play guitar.

Take Your Child to Work Day

Since my parents let me get out of school for take your child to work day, and everyone else's parents, except Stephanie's, are too azn to do that, I'm being forced to write a post.
I'm actually kind of bored, but later I'm going to do ballet. I bombed my ballet assessment. Stephanie, if we don't make it to the ninja level, I'm gonna cry. D=.
I was watching a couple of ballet videos, and there are people that can do ten pirouettes on pointe. I can do ONE. I once did a triple in regular ballet slippers, but that's nothing compared to this one girl my age on youtube who did 8. I'm really praying I made it to Student Ballet 5. But I've seen them dance, and they're impossibly good. I'll never make it.

Stephanie was supposed to come over today, but even though our parents aren't as strict as the rest of the crew's parents, they're not THAT laid back. I'll call her later.
After this, I'm going to put on my pointe shoes and practice my pirouettes. I don't know why, but this one toe hurts a lot now. Maybe it's because Mrs. Whitney's working us to death. She's an awesome ballet teacher and one of my favorite adults. Still, I was sore the entire spring break, because the last day [the day Stephanie couldn't dance, due to tripping on a lacrosse stick] she decided she wasn't being hard enough on us. And now my big toe hurts...

Journal: April 22nd, 2009

Ah, a pretty good day overall.  Not too much homework (in fact, I managed to finish it all before midnight!), and also full of intersting activities.  Today, I went to an art show, which was interseting enough, and revealed some good pictures.  I also saw a few other school memebers there, including Lin.  Other then that, not much happened.  In school of course, a few members of the azn crew got into a puppet war involving those really cool finger puppet things.  It ended when the teacher said "Davis, give the puppets back to them." A bit embaressing, but hey, everyone loves puppets. =]

Emoticonology: :), =), or =]?

Welcome to today's lesson on EMOTICONOLOGY, the study of emoticons, with the famous emoticonologist, Davis.

One of the greatest issues in the field of emoticonology is that differnt emoticons have differnt ways of expressions.  For example, the classic "smiley face" has endless variations.  Today, we will be discussing the 3 most famous types of "smiley faces" and their pros/cons.

:)
Class: Smiley Face
Scientific Name: Colonus Parenthesus
The classic and most used of all smiley faces; universally recognized and hailed as the smiley that started it all.  Almost every chat message accepts these and have their own animation for it, and it is simple, elegant, and expressive.  If you don't know what to choose, or are new to using emoticons, we suggest to use this one to get familiar with the concept.  One problem is that it takes slightly longer to write this smiley than the others, on account of the space between the keys you must press and the holding of the Shift Key.

=)
Class: Smiley Face
Scientific Name: Equali Parenthesus
Some people argue that the equal sign makes the smiley face look friendlier/more expressive.  Others argue that it makes the classic smiley look ridiculous.  Still, this form is for those who specifically enjoy seeing the equal sign, which is a fair amount of people.  This is accepted in the majority of "powerful" chatting engines, such as AIM.

=]
Class: Smiley Face
Scientific Name: Equali Braquatus
One of the newly emerging smileys, it is seen by many classics as an ugly deformation of the smiley.  However, increasing numbers of people have begun to accept its use, although it is not accepted on most chatting sites yet.  However, one of the main benefits of this smiley is the speed with which it can be made, since it requires no capitilization and the keys are right next to each other.  This makes it invaluable for emoticon wars and spamming.

How to be Productive

Ok.  What have you gotten done today?  Hmm... let's think.  Procrastinated, went on Facebook, stared at a blank screen, walked around, procrastinated more, gotten out a piece of paper, procrastinated, looked at homework but didn't actually do it, tap fingers, stare out window, gotten a snack, procrastinated more.

Don't you feel produtive?  One of my worst problems is procrastination.  I promise myself I'll do all my homework on time, write a novel, clean the house, and make a website... but at the end of the day, all that I got done was take out a piece of paper, make a doodle on it, and also ruined my eyes by staring at the computer screen.  Well, here are a few tips on becoming more productive, or at least FEELING productive.

1) Read this blog. - It could have important info for your future life.  After all, when we become the rulers of the world, we'll probably give out quizzes on the blog articles.  Your life may depend on reading these...

2) Spread the word about the blog. - Advertise!  This will make you feel productive cause you'll be helping us azn crew memebers.  And helping other people is nice, right?  Right. =]

3) Lie to yourself - My favorite tactic.  I purposely change the due date on my papers to set them earlier ahead so that I do them sooner.  Still, you might get slightly annoyed at yourself when you realize you stayed up until 3AM to finish a project that was due in a week.

4) Search Google for Stuff - You can learn a lot from the Internet, and it makes you feel like you actualyl learned something.

5) Sleep - Better than nothing.  It relaxes you and also refreshed your brain... its a better way to spend your time than looking out the window, and also requires less effort!  Plus, counting sheep could help imporve your mathematical skills as a a bonus.  (NOTE: Just make sure you aren't like Richard and spend everyday sleeping until 9PM.  Sleeping may be good for you, but you still need to spend at least SOME time off your bed)

6) Reward Yourself - Promise yourself a cookie if you finish your homework.  The only problem with this is that you'll probably end up eating the cookie even if you don't finish your homework.

7) Call a Friend - Ask your friends for help.  Some friends can be a very powerful force in helping you get stuff accomplished.  Others... not so much, so make sure you chose the right ones to call.

Well, those are a few strategies for becoming more productive.  In fact, just by reading this article you've done sometihng productive by helping yourself be more productive in the future! That wasn't that bad, was it?

Who am I?

Who am I you ask?  Recently, my many blog viewers have asked this question, in awe of my amazing brilliance.  Ok, actually, no one really uses this blog and no one has asked that question since everyone already knows who I am. But thats besides the point.  One day, this blog will have thousands of viewers, and then, they WILL ask Who I Am.  Thats what this is for.

I am, as all my close friends know, a 32 year old doctor with a PHD.  However, when I was young, I was always intersted in literature so I decided to make a blog.  I have also published a health book, which has sold quite well.  For further information, visit my website:
www.davisliumd.com

Haha, did anyone actually follow that link?  Gullible fools =P

No, I am not a doctor, nor do I have a PHD (yet).  In reality, I'm just an average person with a fondness for writing nonsense articles and happened to be part of the azn crew.  My special traits?  Porminent among them are randomness, weirdness, likes pingpong/badminton/tennis (typical azn), have extremely azn parents, likes to write, and is moderately smart... I hope.  Also, I TRY to be eco-friendly to make sure Anna doesn't kill me, play piano and guitar, and hate timed writings.  Hate them.  Also, I'm generally easy going and try my best not to hate anyone/be mean, but I have extreme anger issues, which can get in the way of that.

Hmm... what else can I reveal without getting stalked?  I'm Christian, go to church a lot, and am bapitized.  And I had a hamster, but it died (sob sob).  Can't really think of anything else to say about me... I try to be productive, but its quite hard.  I procrastinate.  A lot.  I am also socially indept and hate awkward situations.  Also, I will eventually be a dominater of the world and supreme dictator, so remember that before you say anything... your life may depend on it. (muahahahaha + lightning/thunder).

Well, thats about it.  You just wasted a few precious moments of your ever dwindling life span to learn who I am.  Don't you feel so productive?  I'm sure you do. =]

Journal: April 21st, 2009

Well, today was better than Monday, thankfully.  I found my humidifier!  Well, as another series of posts I'm thinking of writing, I will be making a post a day, including major events of the day any other random thoughts I wanted to put in.  But don't worry, I won't be like most bloggers.

Today, I woke up in the morning at 7:00.  I walked to the bathroom.  I grabbed my toothbrush and toothpaste and brushed my teeth.  I took a shower for 10 minutes...

The main point people don't like reading those types of posts is that: NO ONE CARES.  So I'll just put a small list of major events that happened today and anything that might be a wothwhile story to tell.  Actually, not much stuff happened today.  I was productive for once, got some work done, blah blah blah.  Boring stuff mostly.  But I did find another humidifier and ping pong ball, which is making me feel very happy. =]

And in good news, it seems that Anna, Arthi, Aditi, and Stephanie have gotten SUPERIOR on their music festival!  Good job!  Unfortunately, I don't play a school instrument so I can't partake of festivals such as those.  One thing I only play guitar and piano, which for some reason aren't among the school instruments, so I can't take part of festivals such as those.

In other news, my parents did another display of typical asianess.  Our desktop, which somehow fixed itself after nearly dying yesterday (it started flashing didn't colors and everything went in waves and then circles started popping up... scary...), lost internet connection.  So did our phone and everything else.   Rather then accept that MAYBE a wire got unplugged, my parents came at me and started yelling that I had somehow cause the connection to be lost.   Their arguement went something along the lines of: You went on the computer yesterday, therefore you must've done something wrong and caused the Internet to fail!  They then went on to attempt to ban me from ever using the computer again.  After they left, I knelt down, plugged the wire back in, and behold!  The Internet was fixed.

Well, I think thats all that anyone might even be slightly intersted in, so I guess I'll end this post.  Otherwise, it might turn into a Justin-Style rant, and I'm sure no one wants another one of those. =]

Monday, April 20, 2009

I hate Mondays...

Especially this one.  Horrible, horrible, horrible.  Quick summary of very bad things that happened today:

1) Failed my literature project.  LITERALLY.  It seems that when the teacher said "Staple and put on desk", I "Staples and put back into my folder because I was zoning out."  This resulted in me getting a 0, but I turned it in again, so guess what?  I can at max get half credit!  A 50% on one of the biggest projects of the trimester! Huzzah!

2) Fitness day in gym... basically we spend the whole day doing pointless activities involving running around nonstop and doing pushups.  Maybe that would be good for a 5 minute warmup, but for a 40 minute gym class?  Bad idea.

3) On the one day I forget my caclulator, the teacher says we need a calculator, singles me out as not having my calculator, and forces me to leave the classroom to get it.

4) So... much... homework...

5) I lost my humidifier... this is horrible! And I'm too lazy to look for it!  AHHHH!!!

6) I broke my last ping pong ball.  I bought a new pack a few days ago, and it seems that they're all now broken or lost.  Ugh.

7) My desktop computer killed itself.  It started randomly flashing and wouldn't turn off...

Well, thats a few of the horrible events that happened today... but the darkest hour comes before the dawn or something like that, so hopefully Tuesday will be a better day.  =]

Interview w/ Aditi

Hmm... I have the suspicion that some of our crew members are catching on that I'm interviewing them, especially since I'm not being very sneaky about it. Still, I guess I'll have to ask the questions anyways. Well, this time we're interviewing Aditi, who may seem normal, but is secretly a hyperactive evil genius (muahahaha) so our questions will mostly around that topic. So, behold, the interview with the mad genius herself (insert evil laughter and lightning flash).

Q) Do you believe youself to be an evil supergenius?
A) "No, thats absurd (muahahaha)."

Q) Why do you say "muahahaha" so much then?
A) "I don't know. Thats none of your concern."

Q) Haha, ok?
A) "Yeah, its very ok." (That wasn't a question, but...)

Q) What question would you like me to ask you?
A) "What question would you like me to tell you to ask? Its all very relative." (Ahhh!!! I'm confused now. I think she's using evil super genius reverse psychology on me... hmm... I must counter this with a thought provoking/important question...)

Q) In that case, what is your favorite ice cream flavor?
A) "Vanilla I guess. Or pistachio. I don't know, I'm not much of an ice cream fan."

Q) (desperately trying to think of a question) Umm... what is your favorite type of cow?
A) "One of those Happy California Cows that sing. They make me feel warm and fuzzy on the inside."

Q) (still desperately trying to think of question )Who would win if Darth Vader fought Darth Maul?
A) "I don't know what you're talking about." (Gasp! A super evil genius that doesn't watch Star Wars? How could it be!)

Q) Did you notice that I'm running out of questions?
A) "No."

Q) How could I avoid running out of questions in the future?
A) "Go eat some apple pie with Renish and sing the Babolat song with Richard." (Umm... brilliant advice)

Interview w/ Justin

Justin actually asked to be interviewed, so he might be a bit more guarded for the questions. To compensate, I asked him a series of random and strange questions that no one could prepare for beforehand, and gave him a 15 second limit for answering so he couldn't think too much before answering. =]

Q) What would you do if you found 12 cents on the ground?
A) "Keep it as spare change."

Q) What would you do if Richard tried to eat you? (Well, you never know... especially if he's hungry...)
A) "Umm... I would run away and eat him back."

Q) Why didn't you do your homework last night?
A) "Because I was procrastinating."

Q) If you had a box of 48 crayons, how long would it take to use up the red ones assuming that the pack cost $4.99 (no tax) and you bought it from Target at 6:32PM on Thursday?
A) "Your mom." (Good answer)

Q) WHERE WERE YOU AT 9:31PM LAST NIGHT?
A) "My house..."

Q) What did you expect the last question to be?
A) "I didn't guess I was to captured by a show about corn." (Uh...sure)

Interview w/ Renish

Another interview session!  This time with Renish, who should be able to answer our questions well/in really complicated words.  So... time to ask about the questions about the stuff he's most intersted in, which I would obviously know since I'm such a good friend and pay so much attention to his long rants.  So, without further ado, let us listen to Renish's wise words about his favorite subject, which I absolutely knew before hand.

Q) What subject are you most intersted about?
A) "Science!" (Erm... I knew that.  I was just testing you... So, time for some science related questions!)

Q) Do you like pie?
A) "YES."

Q) Favorite flavor?
A) "Apple pie with whipeed cream."

Q) Least favorite flavor?
A) "Um... blueberry. I had a bad experience.  I once ate one with SOUR... thats right... SOUR blueberries."

Q) How many times a week do you eat pie?
A) "About 5. I'd eat it everyday, but my family usually hogs the rest."

Q) Where do you get most of your pie from?
A)  "Usually Shoprite, but ocasionally Costco."

Mmmmm... pie. =]

Random Stuff That I feel Like Ranting about

Interview w/ Richard

Well, my creative juices seem to have begun to run dry, so I've decided to start a series of interviews with fellow azn crew members over important (cough cough) issues. As of now, the only avaliable member is Richard, so I've decided to interview him first.

Q) Why are you obssesed with Baolat? (Cause seriously, this guy is OBSSESED)
A) "It makes exploding sounds." (I'm not sure what this answer means either)

Q) What is your favorite pasttime?
A) "Tennis, duh." (Obssesing over Babolat is a close second)

Q) What would you do if you found $20 lying at the side of the road?
A) "I'd eat it." (...)

Q) What's your favorite song and why?
A) "The Babolat Song, cause it has to do with Babolat?" (OK, I think this has gone beyond obssesion)

Q) If there was one person you could meet, who would it be?
A) "Federer."

Q) If you could have one thing right now, what would it be?
A) "CENSORED" (Umm.... no comment)

Friday: A Day of Cats, Birthdays, and other Weird Happenings

Today's Richard's Birthday.  Everyone say HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Now, anyway, today was a strange day.  Usually, I don't talk much about my personal life, but there's been strange going ons today.  First, I made it to the finals i knockout.  I hate basketball.  Second, I attempted one of Justin's (in)famous Regretless Flying Dragon Style shots, and i would've missed but Justin also shot at the same time, hit my basketball, and knocked it in.  So in your face Justin, I actually made it in on my first try. =]  Plenty of other things happened, including a sword fight, Renish getting sick during class, and my bus running over a squirrel.

But the weirdest part of the day came while i was coming home from school.  While walking to my house's door, a furry blob jumped out of nowhere and landed in front of me.  At first, I thought it was a groundhog but then I realized that groundhogs couldn't jump so far and usually didn't have a striped fur pattern and a long tail.  It was a cat!  So, me and the cat stood there, a few feet apart, having a staring contest.  I waved.  It kept standing there.  I began to talk to it.  It keep standing there.  I began to spin around.  It kept standing there.

Slightly annoyed, I began to cautiously walk fowartd, a led pencil in hand in case it decided to attack.  It took a step back.  I took a step foward,  It took a step back.  This pattern continued until I reached my door and went in my house.  So overall, a very strange day.

AZN Crew Standards

Hey, Anna here.

Just wanted to say that the AZN crew is by no means racist. We're not the Azn Crew because of our skin tone; we have asian minds. We're all in geometry, with an exception of Maryam, but she's in Algebra and got the highest score on the NJASK in her unit, so we decided to overlook that. Plus, she's mad awesome. ;D

Also, all of us are musical. Davis and Richard, and Stephanie a bit, play the piano, Justin plays the flute, Davis also plays the guitar, while I attempt at it on my own. Stephanie plays the viola, Aditi plays the cello, and Arthi, Renish and I play the violin. [aka, the awesomest instrument ever] Plus, I can play A Thousand Miles on the piano, but Richard does it better. And it takes me about 20 minutes to play the whole, 3 minute song.

Lastly, we're all friends. At least most of us are. Stephanie, Maryam and Lin aren't in our classes; Lin's not even in our school. Still, we all get along, hang out and have insider, Azn Crew jokes. No matter what people think, we aren't the Azn Crew because we're all asian. The crew doesn't necessarily HAVE to be asian.
Haha, we are now accepting resumes. Please send them to Justin, labeled "Anna Is Better Than You." [Justin, if you read this, you know it's true .=p] OK, just kidding. No resumes.
But keep reading! Stephanie needs that new car, even though she can't drive, and the environment needs saving. ;D

8 Reasons Justin is Taiwanese Obssesed

Another 8 Reasons. =]
This time, we'll be talking about Justin and his abnormal Taiwanese obssesion.  In case you ever meet him, its important that anything Taiwanese related is to be said in a postive way, or people may be injured.  Justin can do 20 pulls up, so seriously, be careful.  We wouldn't want any of our readers to be hurt/dead/mortally wounded.  Of course, you'll probably ask why you would be talking about Taiwan with Justin.  He'll find a way to move the subject to Taiwan.  Trust us.  And now, 8 reasons Justin is Taiwanese Obssesed:

1) Watches Taiwanese Drama - Hotshot and Devil Besides you to name two.  Justin has taken the habit of obssesively watching Taiwanese drama and attempting to convince others to watch it too.  It seems Anna has already fallen for his evil schemes.  Stay strong, fellow azns, stay strong.

2) Has Taiwanese Flags Through His Room - I made the mistake of throwing one onto the ground.  I was tackled.  Not a good moment.

3) Constantly Argues of Taiwanese Independence - Wasted a ton of paper printing out random articles about Taiwanese Independence, despite the fact that I agreed that Taiwan is independent.  Then precedded to send me random emails talking about how Taiwan is independent.  Note that it would not be a good idea to say that Taiwan isn't independent, unless you wish to hear an hour long rant on his opinions of Taiwan's independence.

4) TAIPOWER! - His new favorite phrase.  Whenever he's about to do something, he shouts taipower.  In fact, thats his self given nickname...

5) Bubble Tea - We all love bubble tea, but the drinking experience has been made slightly less fun because of Justin's annoying habit of shouting "Ha!  Taiwan invented bubble tea!  What would you do without Taiwan?" and rubbing it in our faces.  We'd like to take this moment to remind Justin that Taiwan's only natural export is a drug.

6) Thinks Taiwan is Awesomer Than Everything Else - Make any comparison between the power of Taiwan and a country, and Taiwan wins.  Hand down.  According to Justin anyways.  Recent conversation:
"Hey, Justin.  Who would win if China fought Taiwan?  Realistically."
"Are you kidding?  Taiwan would PONE (Justin's version of pwn) China!"
"Umm... China's army is way larger and has way more technology.  Be realistic Justin"
"Who cares?  China would lose cause Taiwan has TAIPOWER!!!"
"...uh, sure."

7) Talks about Taiwan at Random Moments - In the middle of math class: "Did you know that Taiwan has a drug called Beetle Nut?" Another time in math class, he asked randomly asked our teacher if Taiwan was independnet or not, and then asked permission to go on the computer to search for related articles.  Then, in literature class attempted to write a petition supporting Taiwanese Independence.  You never know what Taiwanese related action this kid will perform next...

8) Is part of the azn crew - 'nuff sa- wait, that doesn't make sense.  Never mind.

8 Reasons Renish is a Nerd

In order to better prepare you in case you meet one of the azn crew in real life (the horror, the horror!), we've decided to put up a list of 8 reasons that a member of the azn crew is a certain characteristic.  We already have discussed that Richard is crazy, so now it's time to look at Renish.  Renish's biggest feature?  Nerd.  At times, he can be somewhat not nerdy.  But the majority of the time, he's a nerd.  So in case you ever strike up a conversation with him, make sure to make a wide berth around anything school related.  Now, without further ado, here are 8 reasons Renish is a nerd.

1) Talks about Strange Topcis - While I was telling him about creating a blog and saying he could post his thoughts up there, he replied "Cool!  I can finally talk about engineering and robotics to people!  And physics!  Everyone will be intersted cause that stuff is so cool1"  Don't worry, I managed to convince him that not too many people were intersted in learning about that type of stuff.  Hopefully, he listens.  But in case you see a long rant about obscure sciences, you'll know who posted it.

2) Thinks Physics is Fun - Sure, physics inintersting at times.  But fun?  Someone needs to check Renish's brain.

3) Believes Taking Notes is a Form of Entertainment - That kid has a serious lack of understanding about what "entertainment" is.

4) Uses Strange Vocabulary - Who uses "what not" and "quite" to replace "stuff" and "yea".  The kid's not even British!

5) Uses a Calendar w/ "Brain Challenges" - Who spends their time doing calendar brain challenges?

6) Romantically Indept - Renish's Dating Advice: Talk about books... cause everyone loves talking about books.  Never talk about anything romantic with Renish, or you might suffer from choking to death because of laugther.

7) Vidoe Game Addict - Sends me emails with Video Game Review articles and constantly talks about the newest games coming out.  Watches too many Video Game Previews... I fear that they are damaging his mind.

8) Is part of the azn crew - 'nuff said.

9)  He's probably sitting at his computer while reading this and saying to himself, "There are 9 reasons, and the title says 8!  GASP!  Davis counted wrong!"
