How we'll use Geometry in Real Life

Geometry.  Tangents, sectors, right triangles, conguency, scale factor, pythagroem theorem... bleh.  One of the most prominent questions on the mind of geometry students (which most of the members of the azn crew are): "When the heck will we use this in real life?" Seriosly.  Basic math I can understand the need for.  Counting apples, finding change, etc.  But geometry?  Well... after periods of long thinking, we've came up with the following list of ways geometry can be used in real life:

1) To prove that something is a shape.  Of course, you could always simply look at the picture and say its a square...  Unless of course, you're blind.  In which case you would have to use geometry.

2) To measure something.  Or you could use a ruler.

3) To prove that something is a right triangle.  Ya know, in case you ever get in an arguement with your friends.  Then you can prove to them that it IS in fact a right triangle.

4) To find c squared.  Why you would want to know c squared?  I don't know either.

5) To seem smart.  Amaze your friends with the dazzling knowledge of knowing the scale factors between this triangle and that triangle!  Everyone will be impressed by your overwhelming skills at making a meaningless triangle into a complicated figure for which you need to find the measure of side AB for some unexplainable reason.

Of course, there are probably plenty of other reasons to use geometry in real life.  I can't really think of one right now... but I'm sure there are.
